Exactly one year after the start of “Oasis Live '25”, inaugurated on 4 July 2025 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Disney+ has released the first teaser of “Don't Look Back In Anger”, the official documentary dedicated to the historic Oasis reunion. The film traces Liam and Noel Gallagher's return to the stage after sixteen years of separation and promises to tell the inside story of one of the most important musical events of recent decades.
The documentary will debut in cinemas around the world on September 11, with a limited release also in IMAX format, before arriving later this year streaming on Disney+ internationally (and on Hulu in the United States). The project bears the signature of Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, authors of the documentaries “Shut Up And Play The Hits” on LCD Soundsystem and “Meet Me In The Bathroom”, while the conception is entrusted to Steven Knight, creator of the “Peaky Blinders” series. The production is by Magna Studios and Sony Music Vision, with Sam Bridger and Guy Heeley as producers. Below is the first trailer.
“Don't Look Back In Anger” collects exclusive images of the rehearsals, of backstage and concerts from the tour, plus Liam and Noel Gallagher's first joint interviews in over twenty years. To make it happen, the crew followed the band for over thirty days of rehearsals, also filming all the main concerts of the tour in multicamera. The technical department includes director of photography Haris Zambarloukos, Oscar winners James Mather and Tarn Willers for audio mixing and George Cragg with Martina Zamolo for editing.
The teaser, lasting about fifty seconds, offers a first glimpse of the newfound – and never completely dormant – relationship between the two brothers. Noel opens with a line that recalls the tensions of the past: “I don't see myself on stage with Liam, I just don't see myself.” Shortly afterwards Liam's reply arrives: “The way it ended is unacceptable. It will be chaos.”
According to Steven Knight, the documentary does not want to limit itself to telling the behind-the-scenes story of the reunion, but also explores the cultural and generational significance of Oasis' return, an event capable of bringing together fans of different ages and backgrounds. “The Oasis world tour united generations, cultures and countries, speaking of reconciliation to a fragmented world,” explained the director and screenwriter. “Don't Look Back In Anger isn't just your ticket to the show – it's a backstage pass and a seat at the table when Liam and Noel sit down together for the first time in 15 years and tell it like it is and how it was.”
Meanwhile, fans' attention is already turned to the future of the band. After the 2025 tour and the documentary, rumors continue to circulate about a possible live return in 2027, with a new series of concerts in continental Europe, which was excluded from the first tranche of the reunion. Among the most accredited hypotheses for Italy there is talk of a date at the Olympic Stadium in Rome, although there is no shortage of those who dream of an even more impressive event in Tor Vergata. For the moment, however, no official confirmation has arrived.
