Rosalía performed an impromptu rendition of Bad Bunny‘s ‘Safaera’ while pouring herself a tequila shot in Monterrey – watch below.
The Spanish alt-pop star is currently on her ‘Lux’ world tour and on Wednesday (August 19), she arrived in Arena Monterrey in Mexico.
Typically, as she prepares to sing ‘Sauvignon Blanc’, she downs a glass of white wine, but on this occasion, she sat at her grand piano and instead poured herself a shot from a bottle of tequila.
As she prepared the drink, she broke into the opening of ‘Safaera’ a cappella, and the crowd swiftly joined her in singing the intro. Watch the moment here:

‘Safaera’ was first released on Bad Bunny’s 2020 album ‘YHLQMDLG‘ and it features Puerto Rican artists Jowell & Randy and Ñengo Flow. He also performed it during headline-making Super Bowl Halftime show this year.
Rosalía and Bad Bunny also collaborated on ‘La Noche De Anoche’, taken from his second album of 2020, ‘El Último Tour Del Mundo’. They later performed it together on Saturday Night Live in February 2021.

NME was at Rosalía’s show in London in May and gave it five stars, writing: “As poignant and powerful as this performance is, there is also plenty of levity. Before ‘Sauvignon Blanc’, Rosalía sits on top of a grand piano and asks the audience to teach her how to do an English accent. When she accidentally chooses a fan from Rome who wants to teach her Italian instead, she rolls with it, then downs the contents of a large wine glass.”
Her current tour is in support of her fourth studio album ‘Lux‘, which was released last November and landed at Number Seven in NME‘s list of the 50 best albums of 2025.
In May, she used her Ivor Novellos acceptance speech to call for more voices in music who are not “white middle class Europeans”.
