Ultimate Classic Rock magazine attempted one of the most classic “impossible missions” of music criticism: selecting the 100 best rock songs of all time. However, a ranking that interprets the concept of rock in a very broad sense, going well beyond the traditional boundaries of the genre.
“The list of the 100 best rock songs is not limited to classic rock'n'roll records – specifies Michael Gallucci in the introduction – It also includes pop, soul, disco and metal, genres which according to our magazine still fall within the broad area of rock, or perhaps, in an even broader sense, of popular music”. The result is a transversal journey through over seventy years of music, in which pioneers of rock'n'roll, great authors, hard rock and metal bands, protagonists of soul and pop coexist. One hundred songs which, according to the Ultimate Classic Rock editorial team, have left a decisive mark on the collective imagination and accompanied different generations.
