The Laos Fest celebrates an important milestone in 2026: ten years of activity in the name of live music, valorisation of the territory and support for new talents. From the July 31st al August 2the suggestive one Spinelli Square of Scalea, at the foot of the medieval Palazzo dei Principi, will host a new edition of the festival with free entry, confirming its vocation as a point of reference for the independent Italian scene in the South of the country.

The closing of the festival, on August 2nd, will be entrusted to Mobriciaccompanied by Lea Gavino and by the young Calabrian singer-songwriter Atypical.
Just the contest “Play in Laos” represents one of the main innovations that materialize in this tenth edition.
Born from the collaboration between the festival and Cromosomes, an editorial publication and creative hub dedicated to independent music, the project was designed to offer concrete visibility to emerging artists from all over Italy. Among almost one hundred applications received, Diniche took first place, gaining entry into the official line-up of the festival with a dedicated live performance on the main stage. The Press Award went to Saitta, which includes a path of promotion and editorial analysis on Cromosome channels. An initiative that confirms the Laos Fest's desire not to limit itself to hosting music, but to actively contribute to the growth of the new independent scene.
Organized by Levante APS And Music Labs with the patronage of Calabria region and of Municipality of Scaleathe Laos Fest also continues to stand out for its attention to sustainability, thanks to a strictly plastic-free organizational model. More than a musical festival, the festival represents a cultural project that aims to revitalize the historic centres, enhance the architectural heritage and strengthen the tourist attractiveness of the Riviera dei Cedri.
After ten years of concerts, meetings and new artistic discoveries, the Laos Fest thus confirms Calabria's ability to host events of national importance, demonstrating how the province can transform itself into a privileged stage for independent music and for the cultural growth of the territory.
