Patti Smithfollowing the success of last year's world tour to celebrate Horseswhich was sold out – even in Italy just a few hours after the opening of sales -, has returned to our country for another special event: celebrating its 80th birthday together with the Italian public. This “birthday party” took place yesterday July 27, 2026in one of the most evocative locations in RomeThe Circus Maximus.
The concert has been organised from the Opera Theater in collaboration with Vincenzo Berti And Gianluca Bonanno For Twenty-ten, production IMARTS-International Music and Arts. Accompanied by Patti Smith Quartetthe singer-songwriter will be joined by the keyboardist and bassist Tony Shanahanhis collaborator for over thirty years, and the guitarist Jackson Smithson of Patti and Seb Rochford on drums.
A set list with all the manifesto songs that have defined the world musical panorama with Patti's unmistakable voice and those poetic verses that bring to mind key figures such as Arthur Rimbaud and Baudelaireso significant to her right from the start.
Patti Smith has the gift of evoking ancestral suggestions contaminated by a visceral energy that is released on stage and it is precisely thanks to this intensity that she talks about her love for rock, freedom of expression, writing and poetry in a single vortex of emotions. There will be no shortage of the most famous pieces that will be performed Horses, Easter, Dancing Barefoot, People Have the Power And Because the Night. And just like he sings in the famous lyrics of Dancing BarefootPatti Smith continues to move with energy and passion on stages around the world.
