Lauren Bennett, the English singer best known for being the vocalist of LMFAO's hit, has died Party Rock Anthem (2011). He was 37 years old. The cause of death was not disclosed. “We can't even begin to say how much he meant to us,” Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton and Paula van Oppen, his companions in the GRL group, declared in a joint note. “His spirit touched the lives of so many people.”
Thanks also to the participation in the British version of X Factor Bennett was invited to audition for the Paradiso Girls, a girl group put together by Robin Antin of the Pussycat Dolls and record producer Jimmy Iovine. With them he achieved the hit of 2009 Patron Tequilafeaturing Lil Jon and Eve.
After the dissolution of Paradiso Girls, Antin involved Bennett in another project, GRL. They are best known for the feat in Wild Wild Love by Pitbull. Theirs Lighthouse from 2015 is a tribute to Simone Battle, one of the original members who committed suicide. After a break they got back together for some tours before disbanding in 2020.
He also had some success as a soloist, see the singles I Wish I Wish of 2011 and Hurricane of 2016, but is best known for the hit Party Rock Anthem of LMFAO in which he sings bridge and chorus.
She had recently moved towards country music and in February she released a cover of These Boots Are Made for Walkin'. She leaves behind a son with Kenny Wormald, star of the 2011 remake of Footloose.
