An important new piece is added in the long career of Calibro 35, who have been a point of reference on the international scene for years for their ability to combine music for images, experimentation and cinematic grooves in a unique stylistic signature. On October 9th, the band will release the original soundtrack for Record Kicks “Ellroy vs. LA”documentary by Francesco Zippel for Quoiat Films.
The album's release will be accompanied by a European tour which will start at the end of September with a series of events in Italy.

For the occasion, Calibro 35's show will be transformed into a continuous dialogue between music and projected images. Excerpts from the interview with James Ellroy, historical footage of the city of angels and visuals created specifically for the project will alternate on the screen, while the four musicians will perform the songs from the soundtrack together with a selection of songs from their repertoire, from the most famous to the lesser-known.
After the first excerpt “Riots”i 35 caliber they also present the new single today “LA Confidential”. The song, inspired by the American author's noir bestseller James Ellroyis an integral part of the original soundtrack. “How do you transpose Ellroy's Los Angeles into music? It's not easy at all” I explain 35 caliber. “We started from the story: from its rhythm, its characters, its lights and its shadows. From real and fictional events that mix perfectly as the story develops until we lose track of what is true and what is not.” Regarding the new single they add “LA Confidential” they add: “The music that emerged is dreamlike and imaginative but at the same time raw and real. It smells of blood but it shines under the starry sky that can be seen from the Griffith Park observatory.”

The result is a collection of twelve identifying songs which brings the group back to the territories of cinematic funk, enriching itself with influences jazz, blaxploitation And urban rhythms contemporaries. More than a simple comment on the images, the soundtrack becomes a real narrative element, capable of dialogue with the noir imagination.
