The Rolling Stones have given some interviews ahead of the release of their new album on July 10th Foreign Tongues (our review at this link).
One of the topics addressed is that of tours. As is known, due to problems with the touring life of Keith Richards, who is 82 years old, the project of a stadium tour similar to the one that brought the band to San Siro four years ago was first taken into consideration and then shelved.
Talking about it with the monthly magazine UncutRichards admitted that «I don't know if it will be possible to tour anymore. It's traveling that wears you out. But I see the possibility of doing a residency somewhere. Wherever it is: London, New York, Paris, it doesn't matter. I would play in Rome! I don't see why we shouldn't be able to put together some concerts in a new format.”
But the guitarist has no intention of stopping playing and abandoning the band. «If it's still exciting? Yes, it will be until something inside me says, “Okay, that's enough.” I like working with kids. I mean, what else am I supposed to do? Jesus Christ, it's a necessity, even at gunpoint if necessary, to keep a band together… It's something that still leaves me speechless, even at my age.”
