The singer-songwriter from Vicenza, who passed away on 6 June 2021 at the age of 28 due to fulminant leukemia, is thus back in rotation with one of the songs most loved by his audience, from 5 June to the eve of the anniversary.
The song, sixth track of the album Stupid Hearts (Universal Music Italia, January 2020), has accompanied the initiatives of theRebel Romantic Associationborn together with Michele's parents to preserve and spread his human and artistic memory and to support young emerging artists.

Michele Merlo – Always believe it: the meaning of the song
Always believe it it is a hymn to faith in one's dreams, aimed at those who do not give up their sensitivity even in the face of those who would like to reduce it.
It is the story of an artist who defends his own way of seeing the world against those who invite him to “be realistic” and “dream less”, claiming the freedom to write and feel in his own way, without bowing to the tastes of others.
In the words ofRebel Romantic Associationthe song has always been the soundtrack of the events created to remember Michele and to give life to a contest dedicated to emerging people: an invitation, through his music, to never give up on your dreams, even when they seem unattainable.
It is in this light that the choice to bring it to the radio is seen as the natural continuation of a path made of memory and attention to the new generations.
“'Believe Always' was the soundtrack of the events organized in recent years to remember Michele and support young emerging artists through a specifically created contest.
We believe that the choice to bring this song to the radio today is consistent with the path undertaken from the beginning, when together with Michele's parents we decided to give life to the Association. The song fully represents what we aim to do every day: keep the memory of Michele and his music alive and, through his words, encourage young artists to never give up on their dreams, even when they seem unattainable.” – Rebel Romantic Association.
The text of Always believe it
You always believe it
because no one has ever been right here anyway
no other songwriter
And you always believe it
because these infamous people
he took everything away from us
also the desire to dream
All these psychologists, doctors and professors
who never understood it
what my pains are made of
They told me be realistic
you have to dream less
that reality is different from what I believe
I wish I had been a little more sane
I would write the songs to please people
I wish I had been a little more sane
I would have written the songs, the songs
to please people
You think it's easy
live without ever living
Even the pain you know
after all it's an emotion
Come on, tell me what you have
always a reason to laugh
Tell me how you do it
not wanting to die
You always believe it
that everything is the same anyway
let's talk about emotions over a bed that needs to be made
You know maybe you're right
I'm really crazy
but it's not my fault if I see a sky in this room
I wish I had been a little more sane
I would write the songs to please people
I wish I had been a little more sane
I would have written the songs, the songs
to please people
You think it's easy
live without ever living
Even the pain you know
after all it's an emotion
Come on, tell me what you have
always a reason to laugh
Tell me how you do it
not wanting to die
You always believe it
You always believe it
You always believe it
You always believe it
Come on, tell me what you have
always a reason to laugh
Tell me how you do it
not wanting to die
