Doja Cat fans assumed they’d stumbled upon a trove of new music when a slew of supposedly unreleased songs from the artist hit their X timelines earlier this week. Various accounts posted the “leaked songs” and claimed they were scrapped from Vie, the rapper’s fifth studio album, released last year, and its predecessor, Scarlet. At least a dozen songs surfaced in just 24 hours — but Doja Cat denies any of them are real. “All of those songs that are leaking that they’re saying are mine are AI. None of it is me,” she wrote on X. “Really disappointed in…
Lykke Li was sitting in her car and listening to the news when an apocalyptic feeling struck her. Maybe it was the suspiciously bright Los Angeles sun, but Li had the sudden feeling that she was in a spaceship watching the world unravel from afar. “AI, war, capitalism, climate change. This is what it means to be alive today,” she thought. “We're at the afterparty. There's a few euphoric moments left before complete chaos.” That cosmic thinking led to her sixth studio album, aptly titled The Afterparty. Li says the LP wrestles with the question: “How are we supposed to…
In Charli xcx's recent Rolling Stone cover story, the British pop star spoke about her ongoing collaboration with one of her heroes, John Cale. Last fall, she teamed up with the Velvet Underground co-founder for “House,” from her soundtrack to Emerald Fennell's Wuthering Heights. “I just feel really honored to know him,” Charli said of Cale. “It's like, 'What the fuck?'” Cale went on to appear on the black-and-white cover art for Charli's upcoming album Music, Fashion, Filmout July 24. The avant-garde legend is seen sitting in a kitchen alongside Martin Scorsese and Marc Jacobs — each one representing a…
Donald Trump's $16.4 million Reflecting Pool liner is peeling up like a sunburned sophomore on a Cabo spring break, but the president wants the nation to believe it was sabotage. Trump's claims that the Reflecting Pool's issues were caused by a vandal who managed to slash a supposed gash the length of a football field into the pool without being seen by a single tourist or law enforcement officer is absurd on its face. Despite dozens of reporters, influencers, and thousands of tourists venturing to the Reflecting Pool in the last days to check out the algae-infested, sloughing mess in…
It's 1979: Supertramp releases “Breakfast In America” and it's a worldwide success. An international tour followed in support of the album, and the audio of this “stop” at the Pavillon in Paris would be published the following year, in the memorable live album “Paris”. Peter Clifton's documentary “Supertramp: Breakfast in America Live in Paris” tells the story, broadcast on Thursday 25 June at 11.55pm on Rai 5. The images, never published until 2025, convey all the harmony of a band at the peak of expressive maturity. All the songs from the celebrated album are in the setlist. After the triumph…

There's a telling scene in Regime Changethe devastating new chronicle from New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan about the first year of the second Trump administration. Elon Musk, former DOGE leader, had just split with the president over the Big Beautiful Bill, ranting on social media that the signature piece of legislation was an “abomination.” Swan and Haberman describe President Trump's reaction when he sees the post: He looked at it for several beats, an expression close to pensive crossing his face. “They always leave me,” he finally said. “They always do this. This is why I…
