SoundCloud is set to introduce direct-to-fan music sales. The streaming platform announced the change in an announcement on August 26. The feature will be trialled on select US-based Artist Pro creators, with the company expanding to further regions soon. SoundCloud will take no commission on any purchases, excluding fees and taxes. Senate Bill 12, which was passed in 2023, bans “sexually oriented performances” from public venues and places where minors may be present.
