On the Ondarock homepage is published exclusively the video clip of “Modern Grind”, focus track of the “Only the Beginning” of The Rads out on June 27 for Blackcandy. The images indulge the description of a frenetic and pulsating way, dominated by the chaos of contemporary hyperdigitization. Between flash and variations glitchthe band appears “trapped” in a monitor inside which visual loops intertwine at a tight rhythm with the abrasive sound of the song, creating a hyperstimulated, almost claustrophobic experience. An urban and distorted journey into daily information overload. “Modern Grind” is therefore a ferocious snapshot of the digital era, a direct blow to the hyperconnex society, where the infinite flow of the screens transforms reality into a filtered illusion. With a pounding pace, the band denounces dependence on likesmass insulation and loss of authenticity in a world dominated by appearance. “We're Just Rats with a Bad Disease” is the alarm cry of a generation trapped in the prison of digital consumption. The group explains in this regard: “We wanted to slam in the face to everyone the truth that we often pretend not to see: we live scrolling, pretending connections, looking for approval in every like. It is a racing without breath towards nothing. The piece is rough, direct, because even the reality is now. 'We're just rats with a bad dyssese' is not only a verse, it is a mirror”. The Rads is a band from Florence that declares himself ready to rekindle the protopunk flame with a modern touch. Fooded by a navigated rocker quartet, their sound captures the wild essence of the origins of punk in a more “adult” form. Sound experiences of the members who range from the garage of the Dome La Muerte and the Diggers, to the Broadcash country to the Maskar Newwave to the Kerosene Punk Rock and Doo-Doo Drivers.
