The singer-songwriter was pictured with Rita Ora at the Marlborough pub in Mayfair during the Three Lions’ 3-2 victory.
Despite seeing his own national side, Scotland, having a disastrous campaign, which saw them exit the tournament at the group stage, as the final whistle went, Capaldi apparently bought the entire pub of England fans a round of drinks.
“Lewis bought every single punter in the Marlborough a drink,” one punter told The Sun. “Bar staff were instructed to charge all the drinks ordered to him. The tab was almost £2,000 in the end.”
The fan went on to say it was “a massive treat and a really lovely gesture, especially from a Scotland fan… Lewis was a proper legend. As well as buying that massive round he was so sweet to anyone who came up to him.”

Ora shared a few clips of the rowdy scenes, captioning it: “NOTHING beats a London pub game EVER… It’s coming home!!! The fact I woke up with my hair clips in and my hair has not moved says. Watch it till the end… trust me.”
The pair also took turns to sing each other’s songs, before celebrating with the rest of the punters as England won the game, chanting: “Football’s coming home, it’s coming home…”
It comes ahead of Capaldi’s upcoming shows at BST Hyde Park this weekend. The Scottish singer-songwriter is topping the bill at the London concert series, taking to the stage on both Saturday July 11 and Sunday July 12.
The massive outdoor gigs will form part of his UK and Ireland headline tour this summer, and you can find any remaining tickets here.
Capaldi also recently confirmed that he will be livestreaming one of the shows globally on YouTube.
The gig will mark his biggest headline date yet, and the livestream will be completely free to audiences around the world, with no paywall. There will be a 26-camera setup to capture the concert as well as drone cinematography.
The July 11 slot at BST will see him joined by The Vaccines, Absolutely, Nieve Ella, Tyler Ballgame, Kerr Mercer, NECKBREAKERS, Benjamin Steer, Luz, Sebastian Croft and Luke La Volpe.
England meanwhile will take on Norway in the quarter finals of the World Cup on the night of Capaldi’s first show at BST Hyde Park.
