An architecture of the past in all its splendor was the setting for the Catania stage of the summer tour in acoustic format of Iosonouncane, an event organized in synergy by Azul and Zō Centro Culture Contemporanee. An intimate dimension, guitar and voice, set in the Ancient Theater of the Etna capital, made even more evocative by the emergence of water – legend has it that it is the underground Amenano – to flood the orchestra. Outside the usual heat of July expands, inside a microclimate that is miraculous.
The wait doesn't last long and without frills the lights dim while Jacopo Incani gains the spotlight. The silence is absolute when Luigi Tenco's words reach the packed auditorium. “Vedrai, vedera” is only the first peak of an evening with a high emotional level, followed closely by “Novembre”, the single on whose B side it was recorded. From here onwards a journey begins through the discography of the Sardinian singer-songwriter, a journey divided into precise sections, each dedicated to one of his albums and introduced by a tribute to a reference author.
We start with three excerpts from “La macarena su Roma” with an enthralling “The body of crime” to open. Then it is “Windows of pain” by De Gregori and the touching “VIUDAS”, written for the TV series “Briganti”, which marks the transition towards the triptych of “Ira”, certainly the most atmospheric part of the set, closed by a splendid version of “Soldiers”.
And then “Sporca estate” by Piero Ciampi before launching into the sequence “Buio/Carne/Stormi” which ignites the enthusiasm of the audience. A test of strength for songs that demonstrate the ability to live fully even in this essential guise, made incisive by Incani's interpretative skills. There remains space for one last act, the tribute to the late Tonino Casula of “Sacramento”. A very high intensity farewell that closes a perfect evening, difficult to forget by those who were lucky enough to experience it.
