For a few days fans had thought it was over. Then Greta Van Fleet released a new video accompanied by a very clear phrase: «We're back, baby!». The Michigan band thus shared some images on social media from the recording studio while performing a new unreleased song, effectively denying the rumors of a dissolution that arose in recent days after a cryptic post published online.
The group hasn't released new music in a while and hasn't played live since September 2024, when they closed out their tour with a concert at the Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The last official release was the promotional single Farewell For Now.
In the meantime, the band members had dedicated themselves to other projects: guitarist Jake Kiszka worked mainly with the side project Mirador, while Sam Kiszka and Danny Wagner collaborated on the new album of the American singer-songwriter Langhorne Slim.
Thousands of comments of relief appeared under Greta Van Fleet's new post: “Thank God. But why did you have to scare us like that?”, writes a fan. Another adds: “Don't play with our emotions like that.” For now the band has not officially announced either a new album or a tour, but it could happen soon.
