The CSI – Consorzio Suonatori Indipendenti return to travel the streets of Italy with “In Viaggio 1994/1998”, a collection that celebrates one of the most intense chapters in their history and accompanies the band's return to the scene with the highly anticipated reunion tour.
Available in physical and digital format, “In Viaggio 1994/1998” collects some of the most representative songs published between 1994 and 1997, drawing on three albums that have profoundly marked the history of Italian alternative music: “Ko de mondo” (1994), “Linea Gotica” (1996) and “Tabula Rasa Elettrificata” (1997).
The collection
More than a simple anthology, the collection presents itself as the sonic portrait of an unrepeatable artistic season, during which CSI were able to blend musical research, poetic tension and civil commitment, describing a country crossed by profound social and cultural transformations.
The title takes up “In Viaggio”, one of the symbolic songs of that period, and perfectly summarizes the spirit that has always animated the CSI project: a continuous journey, physical and internal, made up of concerts, crossings, meetings and reflections on the present, without ever giving up experimentation.

“In Viaggio 1994/1998” will be available from August 28th on all digital platforms, in record shops and online stores. The tour will also start on the same day, produced and organized by OTR Live, which will debut with a double date in Marzabotto and then cross six Italian cities. A tourand which will bring the band back to the Italian stages for a series of concerts intended to celebrate one of the most significant experiences of Italian music in recent decades. On stage, CSI will re-propose a repertoire that has left a profound mark in the history of Italian rock, restoring its expressive strength and relevance intact. Here are the tour dates:

The places
The decision to start again from Montesole is not just geographical. As guitarist Massimo Zamboni explained at the Casa della Memoria in Marzabotto, where the band presented its long-awaited reunion, “Montesole teaches us to stay quiet. We came there with Guido Harari to take photos of the launch of the tour. We all remained silent, for a long time, in front of the ruins. And we never took the photos again. It's the world that tells itself, you just have to stay there and listen”. A dimension that has always belonged to the music of CSI, rooted in the memory, history and fractures of the twentieth century. Seven dates are planned, in spaces far from the big circuits and full of meaning: from Villafranca di Verona to Egnazia, from Spello to Alba, up to Catania. A path that unites territories and conscience, faithful to the identity of the group.
Giovanni Lindo Ferretti reiterates a clear distance from any didactic or militant function: “Montesole had to be a reading of Dossetti's texts”, he said, recalling the last concert. “Challenging lyrics, because we wanted to honor the 'obedient monk', give him complexity. Our songs as hymns to peace? Songs can be hymns to war or peace, depending. We shouldn't ask songs to solve the world's problems. The song is a small thing, it's part of the mystery of life. And I try not to demean the mystery of life.”
The anniversary
Yet CSI's work has crossed recent history like few others: “Linea Gotica”, released in 1996, remains one of the most radical records of Italian rock, linked to the memory of the Resistance, the war in the Balkans, Fenoglio's literature and the vision of a torn Europe.
The memory evoked by the CSIs. it is not pacified. Ferretti and Zamboni both recall family stories marked by war and opposing choices, confirming an unresolved tension that has always run through the project. Born in 1992 from the ashes of CCCP, the group represented the transition from the end of ideologies to the difficulty of living in the present, up to the dissolution following the concerts in the Balkans in 1998. Today the reunion puts the historic lineup back together, with Giovanni Lindo Ferretti, Massimo Zamboni, Gianni Maroccolo, Ginevra Di Marco, Francesco Magnelli and Giorgio Canali. The concerts will have tickets at affordable prices, in line with a history that has remained on the margins of the music industry. The project also includes a film directed by Davide Ferrario and already looks to 2027, for a collective return that ideally closes a circle.
