So far, the song ‘Golden’ that was written for the movie has won two Oscars, a Grammy, and two Golden Globes, as well as topping the charts in more than 30 countries. In…

When Steve Lacy first started letting people hear Oh yeah?the album was much sadder. “They were sad,” he told me last summer, recalling an early listening session with his label. “They were like, 'All right, now play some happier ones.' And I was like, 'Fuck.'” At the time, Lacy was still working through the aftermath of a breakup. The songs circled mistrust, self-sabotage, longing, and the feeling of discovery that you had been carrying sadness without fully recognizing it. But Oh yeah? it was being made in real time, and before he could finish it, his life began moving somewhere…
Photo by Luca Moschini Last night, Thursday 16 July, Asti transformed into the epicenter of Italian electronic pop by hosting the first and highly anticipated date of the summer tour “Esseri Umani” by Bluvertigo. A return to the summer scenes that smells like an unmissable event, especially because it sees the complete original lineup: Morgan on vocals and bass, Andy Fumagalli on keyboards and synthesizers, Sergio Carnevale on drums and Livio Magnini on guitars. Together, the four pioneers of Italian synth-pop have demonstrated that time, for them, truly seems to have stopped. Or perhaps they have simply always been one…

What I’ve noticed about a lot of my favorite rap mixtapes of the year so far is that they’re full of thoughts you normally couldn’t say because they’re too vulnerable—or shouldn’t say because they’re too out of pocket. Maybe it’s because so much of the popular music seems so polished and market-tested that to hear rappers get on the mic and truly say whatever the hell they want is essential. Each of the 10 rappers on this list is doing this in their own way, whether that be through the cerebralness of UK road rap, or the way-too-honest hilarity of Arkansas…
Brenda Fricker, the Oscar-winning Irish actress best known to American audiences for her role as the Pigeon Lady in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, has died at the age of 81. Fricker’s agent Phil Belfield confirmed to the BBC that the actress died Friday “after a period of ill health”; no cause of death was provided. “We will never see her like again and the world is lesser for the lack of her,” Belfield said in a statement. “I was honored to know, love and work with her and she will always have a place in my heart…
Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of The Odyssey is out in theaters today, and with it comes an original soundtrack from the indefatigable Ludwig Göransson. Closing the OST—and the film itself—is a new song from Göransson, James Blake, and Travis Scott, co-written with Nolan himself. Listen to “When I’m Home” below.Scott’s involvement in the mythological epic—mild spoiler alert!—is not limited to the hallucinatory verses and harmonies he contributes to the track. He also appears playing a bard at the start of the film and briefly reprises the role later on. Although “When I’m Home” is the only song featuring other musicians, another…
One of the best psych-folk albums of 2026 was made by a beekeeper and a part-time wizard. If that sounds like a joke, allow us to add some more context: They're a duo from Philly who have built a seriously impressive word-of-mouth buzz since forming six years ago. The name of the band is @, like the punctuation symbol. If you're talking about them out loud, you can just say “at.” This would be a good time to think about how to pronounce that name, because they're about to have a lot more fans. Autosmile (out Oct. 16), @'s first…
One day after a scary on-set incident where an intruder confronted Craig Melvin, the Today co-host addressed the situation on Friday morning's episode. “You may have heard that unfortunately an intruder made his way into an unauthorized area here at Studio 1A,” Melvin told the audience Friday. “Thankfully he was apprehended quickly, he was placed under arrest, we are cooperating fully with NYPD as they investigate the matter and we are just very happy that everyone is safe.” On Thursday, a man named Andrew Truelove allegedly snuck past a security guard on the Today show set and made his way…
