Getting lost in the labyrinth of your own thoughts means encountering, at every turn, regrets, mistakes and fears that take on the face of personal Minotaurs. It is a path that often requires proceeding without maps and without help, also dealing with the fear of abandonment and self-devaluation. With the new single “The Maze”, i Noise in Myself they reread the myth of Ariadne as a still relevant story. After helping Theseus escape the labyrinth, Ariadne is left alone on the island of Naxos: ingratitude, betrayed expectations and remorse have tormented human beings since the dawn of time, but all…

A class-action lawsuit against Spotify led by rapper RBX, which accused the streaming giant of turning a blind eye to pervasive bot-farming on its platform, has been dismissed as of yesterday. In her June 22 ruling, California federal judge Josephine Stanton found that RBX had “failed to plausibly allege that the harm he has suffered outweighs any justification Spotify may have for maintaining its current policies regarding artificial streaming.”Judge Stanton took issue with two core claims of the suit: that Spotify had been negligent in its duties towards protecting artists, and that it had violated California’s Unfair Competition Law. To…
In 1999, The Blair Witch Project felt terrifying because of the “found footage” from a missing film crew with no smartphones to help when bad things happened in the woods. The movie’s producers will attempt to recontextualize and reboot that horror for the modern age when a new chapter of the franchise opens on Sept. 24, 2027. They haven’t yet disclosed a plot or how such a movie would work (would something mystical appear on your TikTok FYP with the hashtag #TheBlairWitchChallenge?), but a teaser from Lionsgate on Instagram suggests that any hapless witch victims would have access to making…

There's no denying that Lizzo is a singular artist. After exploding on the scene in 2019, she went on to land a string of hits with the ubiquitous “Juice,” “About Damn Time,” and “Good as Hell,” picking up Grammys and other accolades along the way. Not a traditional pop singer, she infused her music with funky horns, hip-hop grooves, and even the flute. She overindexed for bops, but was there a Lizzo sound? Depends on the track. Lizzo first began chipping away at her fifth studio album, Bitchesaround four years ago. The album underwent a number of transformations during that…
Turnstile have tapped, well, pretty much every cool artist you could imagine to provide support on their upcoming tour. In fact, not a single show on the 16-date run will be exactly the same. The Baltimore hardcore band will be joined by a different assortment of artists at every one of their dates this fall in support of their Grammy-winning 2025 LP, Never Enough. Yes, a handful of acts — like Yves Tumor, Die Spitz, and Cold World — will play multiple shows, but on the whole each night's lineup is unique. For instance, the Sept. 15 shows in Pittsburgh…
Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields may turn into a sobbing fest in August if she performs “Landslide” with Stevie Nicks. The superstar teased as much during an interview on Good Morning America with Diane Sawyer, who said that seeing the two artists perform the song would be a dream. “We might make that happen for you, Diane,” Rodrigo responded. “We'll see. Can't give too much away.” It would be a once-in-a-lifetime moment to see the rock legend sing about getting older alongside one of the most promising artists of the new generation. In October 2023 Rolling Stone cover story, Rodrigo…
