Drake’s Iceman landing this week, and it’s far from the first major record in music history to generate hype and excitement through an unorthodox marketing gambit Late last month, an enormous block of ice — roughly 25 feet high with each block weighing 300 pounds — appeared in a Toronto parking lot. “Danger Do Not Touch,” read a nearby sign. “This ice structure may break or collapse without warning, and falling ice or sharp fragments may cause serious injury or death. Do not touch or interact with the structure. Any contact with the structure is at your own risk.” Most…

As we inch closer to the final air date of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, the host recruited his predecessor, David Letterman, for a very important task: to throw CBS property off the roof. Standing on top of the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City, Letterman told Colbert, “I thought maybe tonight’s occasion would be a little sad, being the end of your run here, but this brings true joy to my heart. We are up here for the wanton destruction of CBS property!” That property included couches, Colbert’s office chair, several watermelons, and even a three-tiered congratulatory…

When Drake isn’t making six-leg parlays or DMing Kick streamers, I like to think he just spends his time in his Canadian mansion digging through YouTube’s hip-hop archives and passing around SoundCloud links with Chubbs and OB Obrien. (Sidenote: I don’t think I’ve seen proof of OB Obrien’s existence in at least three years, I’m gonna head up to the 6 and go on a frantic search for him like Jack Lemmon looking for his son in Missing.) There’s a lot to comb through and discuss on his new Parker-style revenge trilogy—Iceman, Habibti, Maid of Honour—but one of my takeaways…

“I’ve always had to work really hard for it,” Billy Eichner says in his hilarious, moving new audio memoir, Billy on Billy, out May 19. “Proving myself again and again and again… There was always someone out there who thought I was too something or not enough of something else. ‘He’s talking too much.
