When an OB-GYN at McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma examined Taylor Parker on Oct. 9, 2020, he found no evidence that she had just given birth — or had even been pregnant at all. But, as the doctors quickly concluded, the baby wasn't hers. Earlier that day, Parker — who had pretended to be pregnant for 10 months — stabbed her pregnant friend Reagan Simmons-Hancock 15 times, then performed…

Elliott Smith now has an asteroid named after him, over two decades since his death. The move has been approved by the International Astronomical Union’s Working Group for Small Body Nomenclature (WGSBN), and will see a minor planet discovered in 2014 become officially named as “(861969) Elliottsmith”. It was Edinburgh-based independent filmmaker Orlando Campopiano who came up with the idea for the heartwarming tribute, as reported by Stereogum. According to reports, Campopiano was looking into the night sky when listening to the late songwriter’s song ‘Shooting Star’ – which was released as part of posthumous album, ‘From a Basement on…

During the G7 conference on Wednesday, Donald Trump told reporters that while “nobody knows what it is,” his supposed deal with Iran “is very strong and most people seem to be very happy.” The deal, which is actually a 14-point “memorandum of understanding,” was made public hours later. It addresses virtually none of the Trump administration's stated goals for the war, leaving many key points to be decided later. It calls for “the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts,” including Lebanon, where Israel has been launching strikes, and for Iran to use its “best efforts” to…

O ne Sunday this spring, Clari Freeman-Taylor met a friend at Brooklyn’s Green-Wood Cemetery. They had a lovely time there among the historic statuary and lush foliage; after saying goodbye to her friend, Freeman-Taylor kept wandering the cemetery’s vast 478-acre grounds on her own.  “I was thinking a lot about how I would be buried, but not in a morbid way,” Freeman-Taylor, 22, recalls. “I don’t really want a grave. I’d rather just be buried in the ground, completely naked, under a tree, so that the tree could absorb me.”  After a while, she noticed that her phone had died,…
