I let the evening settle before trying to tell it. I wanted to understand what would remain, once the enthusiasm of having been there had gone through. If the impression had just been the effect of a successful concert or something deeper. A few days later, the answer is the same: everything is left.
Saturday 18 July, at the Ippodromo delle Capannelle, for Rock in Roma, i Bluvertigo they brought the second date of the tour to the stage Being Human. A reunion which, more than a nostalgic return, seems like the natural continuation of a discussion that has remained pending.
How much discipline. And how beautiful, discipline. Morgan speak as much as necessary: to the keysHow much on the ropesbuilds, accompanies, opens spaces. Andy continues to have an immediately recognizable sound, and finding his backing vocals is something satisfying and comforting. Livio Magninion guitars, is powerful and cultured, composed and magnetic. Lele Battista he is everywhere without ever taking up space unnecessarily: multi-instrumentalist in the fullest sense of the term. From Sergio Carnevale I knew the amazing drummer. However, I didn't imagine such a refined sensitivity for video art. Because the entire live show is crossed by visuals, conceived and created by him together with Alex Tacchi, images that do not simply act as accompaniment but have a breath of their own. Digital sequences that pulsate like nervous impulses, photographs constructed with a certain tragic irony à la Cattelan, fires, marine surfaces with livid tones that end up coloring the musicians themselves. Crazy combinations – real art – like the one between Apollo 13 and Piazza Fontana.
The most surprising moment comes during The heretic. The faces of contemporary heretics scroll across the screen: Ana Kasparian, Enzo Iacchetti, Roger Waters, George Galloway, Thomas Gould, Gideon Levy, Ghada Karmi, Mandy Patinkin, Francesca Albanese, Cenk Uygur, Julian Assange. It's a poetic statement. This is also why the concert takes on a political dimension, without the need for proclamations. Morgan he doesn't hide his positions and doesn't try to make them more accommodating: he lets them enter the show, within an idea of music that never separates aesthetics from content.

But let's get back to the sound. There are moments in which the mass reaches that ability to compress and release energy typical of great rock bands. For a moment you even think of Iron Maiden. Yet here no one feels the need to show off: every element remains at the service of the piece, of its architecture.
From Decadence to Zeropassing through The God of money, Absinthe, I am = I am, Understanding, MaybeLSD, Overthought, Mixtures, The heretic And The crisiseach piece seems to have found new strength without losing an ounce of its identity. Black skies remains one of the emotional peaks: the historic video clip returns to the screen, while the music acquires a specific weight.
Then come the encores: Loving the Aliena medley that also crosses Iodineand finally Other life forms. Morgan introduces Loving the Alien remembering how Bowie, in Italy, was never really understood. That piece comes as something alienating: the setting to music of an “elsewhere” that belongs to cathedrals, to those places where even the air seems to take on a different consistency.
When the lights come back on, a rare sensation remains: that of having witnessed something that does not need to chase contemporaneity because, simply, it has never stopped inhabiting it. Halfway through the concert Morgan says it: “We are unique”. A sentence that doesn't sound like a pose, but rather like an observation. Because even today, in 2026, i Bluvertigo remain difficult to place: they continue to move in a space of their own, probably the future perfect of our feelings.
And then it comes naturally to close this flow of thoughts by returning to the beginning, to the words of Decadence:
“I like uncrowded places
the dead-end streets, the very rapid descents
endless undertakings
I like lightning on dark nights
fear of the supernatural
Setting out in search of a treasure that perhaps doesn't exist.”
It's all there. Little frequented places, very rapid descents, endless undertakings and flashes on dark nights… In short, we understand each other.
