Cecilia Larosa he published Stronger than younew single from You livethe debut album released on May 27th for Unalira. It is one of the most rhythmic songs on the album and tells of the moment in which you find the strength to get out of a painful relationship.
The meaning of Stronger than you
The title works on two levels. There is the “stronger than you” addressed to the other person, that of someone who discovers they are capable of standing alone, and there is the “stronger than you” said to their own fear of leaving. The song is all about this passage: recognizing a toxic relationship, getting out of it and rebuilding your emotional independence without asking anyone's permission.
The choice to entrust this content to one of the most energetic songs on the album is not accidental. In You livewhich the singer-songwriter defined as a diary, the most intimate pieces work on fragility. Here, however, fragility is already behind us, and what remains is the step forward.
How the song was born: from Piero Cassano to Fabio Perversi
The origin of the piece is an intuition shared between Piero Cassanoproducer of the album, and Fabio Perversileader of the Matia Bazar. Two names that weigh heavily in the history of Italian pop, working on a singer-songwriter making her recording debut.
On that rhythmic basis Cecilia Larosa he built melody and imagery, while the lyrics were finalized together with the songwriter Gianluca Burzese. The production is by Cassano, the arrangement and the mix by Aki Antonio Chindamo at Auditoria Records. The video clip is directed by Andrew Overviewwith photography and lighting by Ivan Stanelli.
Vivi, Cecilia Larosa's debut album
You live came out May 27, 2026 For Unaliraindependent label directed by Lorraine Bassanowho is also the artist's manager. Thirteen songs for thirty-seven minutes, with the artistic production of Piero Cassanowhich has been following the project since 2024.
The album moves between contemporary pop, soul veins and references to the Mediterranean tradition. Calabria is not a decorative setting: it returns in the language, in the images and in at least one piece entirely built on that material.
The center of the project is the title track, born from a declared experiment. Cecilia Larosa wrote a completely new melody on the harmonies of Seven Seconds Of Youssou N'Dour And Neneh Cherrya song he listened to on loop in a difficult period, keeping the harmonic system and changing everything else.
Alongside the title track there are the more pop moments, such as You are never enough for me And Indelibleand the most intimate ones. Up to you was born from an unfinished demo by Piero Cassano and Claudia Ferrandi. Duci amuri meu is a ballad suspended between Italian and Calabrian dialect, inspired by the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice and written with the poetess Ilda Tripodi: it's the point where the album stops being a pop debut and becomes something more personal.
