Text and meaning of RÀRECHEthe new single by THE NIÑAout Friday 3 July for Sugar Music. The song arrives on all digital platforms and in radio rotation, accompanied by the video clip on YouTube, and marks the entry of the Neapolitan singer-songwriter into Sugar's record roster.
THE NIÑAto the century Carola Mocciais one of the most recognizable voices of the new Neapolitan songwriting. In 2025 he won the Targa Tenco for Best Album in Dialect with Furestathe album that consolidated his research between Neapolitan tradition and experimentation. With RÀRECHE a new chapter in her journey opens, which the single inaugurates right in the middle of the summer tour that is taking her to the stages of the main Italian and European festivals.
The song, produced by the same THE NIÑA together with Alfredo Maddaluno And Matteo Parisimoves on a folk structure and revolves around a central image: the roots. The title in Neapolitan means roots, and the whole writing of the piece starts from there.
THE NIÑA – RÀRECHE: the meaning of the song
At the center of RÀRECHE there is the relationship between what is seen and what remains hidden. The flower is the visible manifestation, the roots are the invisible but living part, guardian of memory and identity. On this image La Niña builds a reflection on truth, belonging and collective history, questioning what precedes every cultural and spiritual construction.
The artist herself tells the story of the birth of the song:
“The flowers wrote this song, I just performed it. They taught me that what we see bloom carries with it a hidden story of roots, resistance and memory.”
The verse that contains the meaning of the piece is in dialect, “Sott' 'to the ground 'and ràreche so' alive”under the earth the roots are alive. The idea is that a flower can be broken by the wind, but what generates it continues to exist beneath the surface, retaining the strength of memory and rebirth.
The choirs have a central role, entrusted to a children's choir. The childish voice is thought of in its source strength, a voice that questions the future and at the same time forces us to rethink the past. La Niña built a creative exchange with the children that makes those voices not a simple sound element, but the heart of the piece: what precedes, what remains, what germinates again.
RÀRECHE, the Italian translation of the text of THE NIÑA
A flower can break in the wind
But the wind without flowers smells of nothing
A flower can break in the wind
But the wind without flowers smells of nothing
The voice of this people
the truth must be sung
that the devil doesn't want to tell
Fallen stars light up the sea
Where does the moon go when it disappears?
Bring good by doing evil
With the same anger as an animal
I would like, I would like to know
whether the land or the flag comes first
I would like, I would like to know
whether the cross or prayer comes first
A flower can break in the wind
but under the earth the roots are alive
But the wind without flowers smells of nothing, of nothing
Fallen stars light up the sea
Where does the moon go when it disappears?
Bring good by doing evil
With the same anger as an animal
The text of RÀRECHE
Below is the text of the song, inserted in the context of the analysis.
If a little breaks the heart
'mmiéz' 'o come
But 'or I come without color
it's sad and nothing
If a little breaks the heart
'mmiéz ' 'o come
But 'or I come without color
addor' 'and nothing
Vocally 'and those who sing the adda'
'to tell the truth, the devil doesn't want me to know'
Fallen stars
they stick to the sea
Addo goes to the moon
when to escape?
Purtate 'o' well
they do 'or 'màle
Cu 'a same plan
'e 'n' animal
Vurria
Vurria knows you come first to the ground
o' a bannera
Vurria
Vurria knows you come first crosswise
or 'to prayer
If a little breaks the heart
'mmièz' 'o come
but underneath 'to the ground' and ràreche so' lives
But 'or I come without color
it's sad and nothing
'and nothing
Fallen stars
they stick to the sea
Addo goes to the moon
when to escape?
Purtate 'o' well
they do 'or 'màle
Cu 'a same plan
'e 'n' animal
The summer tour and the move to Sugar
The release of RÀRECHE sits at the heart of the summer tour, produced by OTR Livewhich is bringing La Niña to Italian and European festivals. All dates and ticket information are in our article dedicated to the Furèsta Ita Tour 2026.
The single also marks something new on the recording front. After the years in BMG, which had published the album Furèsta and the previous singles, La Niña enters the record roster of Sugar Music. The artist was already an author on Sugar Music Publishing since her debut album Vanitas, so her entry into Sugar consolidates and expands an already established editorial collaboration, now also extending it to the recording part.
