There are concerts that are simple musical performances and then there are performances that completely redefine the boundaries between visual art, mathematics and alternative rock.
The show that belongs to this second, very rare category Angine de Poitrine have given to the Italian public in the splendid and futuristic setting of MART of Roveretoguests of the special edition Utopia of Poplar Festival.
The Canadian duo originally from Saguenay, who have become a true global viral phenomenon thanks to a memorable and hypnotic live session on KEXP, have landed in Italy for their first and only date in our countrytransforming the square under the famous dome of the museum into a laboratory of Dadaist sound experimentation.

A labyrinth of odd geometries and times
Nobody knows exactly who is hiding behind those polka-dotted overalls and the grotesque masks that cover the faces of the musicians, but what Khn and Klek throw off the stage is a sound architecture of surgical precision. The Angine de Poitrine they blend the controlled schizophrenia of math rock with layered real-time loops.
The result is an alienating and magnetic live experience, capable of moving from the dreamy and hypnotic atmospheres of tracks like Sherpa to electrical and unpredictable explosions of Fabienk.
The Rovereto audience remained motionless, almost hypnotized, watching four hands move on the neck of the instrument as if they were deciphering an alien code, before letting themselves go in a liberating mosh pit.
