Tedua continues to approach the exit of Ryan Ted Mixtape publishing by surprise Letter to Teduanew song accompanied by a video released on his social channels.
The track, contained in the project arriving on May 22, moves like an internal dialogue built around the criticism received over the years, the relationship with success and the transformation experienced by the rapper in the transition from the street to the mainstream.
Tedua responds to criticism in Letter to Tedua
In the song Tedua puts together many of the accusations that have been made against him over time: from not “knowing how to sing” to having distanced himself from his original rap, passing through his relationship with fashion, fashion shows and commercial success.
Letter to Tedua it starts almost like a frontal attack against himself, using phrases and comments that have become recurrent around his name:
“Tedua is a meme, Tedua can't sing / Tedua thinks he's being intellectual”.
Over the course of the piece, however, the tone changes. The rapper transforms those criticisms into a personal story about the weight of expectations, about growth and about the attempt not to deny one's origins even within an increasingly exposed dimension.
From Orange County to the parades
One of the central themes of the piece is the conflict between the Tedua of the beginning and that of today.
The reference to Waiting for Orange County returns explicitly in the verses dedicated to the nostalgia of a part of the public for his more street period. At the same time, the artist claims the experiences he has had in recent years, including those related to fashion and brands:
“Hotel Costes in Paris, where I'm welcome / I have a suite with my friends, you can't call me a sellout.”
Self-analysis, anger and the need for legitimation therefore coexist within the piece, without seeking the structure of the immediate individual.
The text of Letter to Tedua
Below is the text of the song:
Tedua is a meme, Tedua can't sing
Tedua thinks he's being an intellectual
Tedua needs to go back to his Orange County days
When he still sang from his heart among the buildings
If he's super stupid, he does whatever the fuck he wants
And when he's on stage it's not normal for me
And Tedua isn't on time, he doesn't even have the talent
He doesn't know what he's doing, he just likes it because it's beautiful
Fuck parades, commercial rap
Fuck those hosted in the provincial club
Fuck you, you look like you're high on Tedua coke
I swear, you've sold yourself to the system a little
I no longer think about repressing, I give you my lyrics
A bit like entrails in the circus of criticism
I skipped dinner, then I skipped the pit
“He who doesn't jump is a fan of Tedua” and my gang didn't move
Remember that I was without hot water in the house
That if it weren't for Paolo I would have taken another path
Every time I feel the weight behind a bullshit
I'm tense, how long I've waited to save the day
Here there are those who don't appear, those who make music from the heart, if they rap, if they rap, if they sing
But it remains the same for all those people who have another mocking question
Okay, on to the next shitty record, on to the next weed addict
I can do a lot with the pen if your soul listens to some pop songs too
While all those hip hop are cult for the scene
Tedua cringe, Tedua king, I modeled for brands
Before I was on the street and paraded in via di Prè
Every time it goes like this, I think it's not for me
But then I discover a new world and I don't want to close myself off
Hotel Costes in Paris, where I am welcome
I have a suite with my friends, you can't call me a sellout
Compromising for money, you don't know what it feels like
I support the family, you are still a supported person
Mario, enough with this classist criticism that doesn't even justify you
Stop playing the victim, the music in the charts
But you seek consensus in the public because you didn't have a family
Ryan Ted there is no hourglass, I'm with you all my life
Remember the “I hate Fabri Fibra” t-shirt
What if being myself was my success
So I'm naive, rebellious, different
Demonstrate the fact that you're a loser, in quotes. I mean, even showing your facets, even the roughest ones, then leads you to be even cooler than you are.
Tedua will bring the new project towards the concert event on 24 June 2026 at the San Siro Stadium in Milan.
