Ok, it's an all-American thing and it's difficult to compare the charts of the past, based on sales of physical singles, with those of today, based on streaming and the equivalence with copies sold. But Ella Langley has entered an exclusive club which until now only included Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey.
Choosin' Texas of the country-pop singer (her profile at this link) remained at the top of the American chart, the Billboard Hot 100, for 14 weeks. For a female performer it is almost a record in the sense that before Langley only Houston managed it with I Will Always Love Yousoundtrack to the 1992 film The Bodyguardand Carey with We Belong Togetherhit of 2005. He did the best of the three songs alone All I Want for Christmas22 weeks at number one.
As if that wasn't enough, two other Langley songs are present in the overall American top 10. It's about Be Her (number 3 in the rankings, there is number 2 I Knew It, I Knew You by Taylor Swift) and I Can't Love You Anymore (number 7).
