«The Twin Towers collapsed thanks to controlled demolition». Roger Waters said it, they are relaunching a conspiracy theory that has been widespread for almost a quarter of a century, regarding the terrorist attack of September 11, which according to the musician was not such.
Guest of Pier Morgan Uncensoredthe English journalist's YouTube talk show, Waters began by saying that “what really happened on September 11, 2001 is absolutely important for all of us human beings because it influenced what happened from that day on for the next 25 years with the war on terror” by the United States.
“Thousands and thousands of architects and physicists,” Waters says, “came out in the weeks that followed and said clearly, and I am absolutely convinced that they are right, that Buildings 1, 2 and 7 of the World Trade Center collapsed thanks to controlled demolition. We all know it. You can argue as much as you want,” he says to Morgan, who doesn't believe this theory.
Waters says he doesn't know who exactly is behind the controlled demolition, one hypothesis is of course that the CIA and the US government were there, but he states that «I believe that those buildings were destroyed by a controlled demolition. The evidence we have seen with our own eyes and the laws of physics indicate this probability.”
The opportunity to talk about it again is the legal initiative of Matt Campbell, the brother of one of the English victims of September 11th. Geoff Campbell, 31, was on the 106th floor of the North Tower for a conference. Matt Campbell thinks the investigation into the collapse was insufficient and that there was a controlled demolition.
In January 2024, the Attorney General for England and Wales rejected Campbell and his family's request to reopen the investigation, stating that the facts had already been established. Campbell, a guest with Morgan's Waters, appealed to the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom and activated a fundraiser to finance it to which the former Pink Floyd contributed.
If he were to obtain a favorable ruling, the path towards a new investigation would be reopened. Waters hopes that there may be a new investigation in the United States too, although he highly doubts that there will be one. “But anyone with any sense knows that neither building 1, nor 2, nor 7 collapsed due to the fires.”
