Rebecca Yarros has officially unveiled the title and cover of the next installment in her blockbuster Empyrean series, giving fans their first look at a highly anticipated companion book that expands the bestselling dragon-rider saga. Titled Threshing Day, the Red Tower Books release is available for pre-order ahead of its Sept. 29 publication, after dominating bestseller lists months before its cover reveal.
Rather than continuing the central storyline like the first three books, Threshing Day includes 13 stories told from the viewpoints of the series’ characters and their dragons. Available only in the United States and Canada while supplies last, the author has reassured her international readers that editions for other markets are on the way, writing on Instagram, “Keep an eye on my foreign publishers’ social media for updates about their release dates.” The deluxe first edition also includes 16 color illustrations by artist Joe Requeza and dragon artwork on the page edges.
