Firstborn will release his first EP Drown in friendly waters next May 15th on all digital platforms for EMI Records Italy/Universal Music Italia. Five songs to tell a world made of strong images, complicated relationships and memories that weigh on you.
The Roman singer-songwriter, born in 2004, thus continues the path he began in 2023 with Potassium and continued with singles like Sorry Catherine And The world in that box.

The project was born from a two-year work, during which Firstborn he selected and rewrote several songs until arriving at the final version.
The title of the EP revolves around a specific idea: feeling trapped in apparently reassuring situations.
“Each song talks about a comfortable situation, about friendly waters, which however ultimately create a sense of oppression, becoming exhausting and monotonous,” says the artist.
The themes run through family, home, romantic relationships and the search for one's identity. The singer himself defines the project as a sort of coming-of-age story.
The musical influences between Italian songwriting and alternative rock
The sound of Drown in friendly waters looks at the Italian songwriting of the '60s, '70s and '80s, but with modern arrangements and a very strong alternative pop-rock component.
In the musical world of Firstborn Italian and Anglo-Saxon references coexist: from Sergio Caputo, Ivan Graziani and Edoardo Bennato up to international realities such as Tally Hall And Will Wood.
The artist focuses heavily on the images and sensations evoked by the lyrics, while maintaining simple and direct writing.
“Words must be limited, but not limiting,” explains the singer-songwriter when talking about his approach to writing.

The image shows scattered objects, waste and old junk linked to the songs on the EP: the box set and the dolls recall The world in that boxwhile the white car refers to Sorry Catherine.
Among the elements present there are also a football, symbol of the artist's childhood, and a key which represents access to the different “worlds” told in the pieces.
The body of Firstborn he appears buried under these objects, crushed by everything around him.

After the May Day concert comes the live show at Monk
After the performance at the Concertone del Primo Maggio in Piazza San Giovanni in Rome, Firstborn will be among the artists present at the MIAMI Festival 2026 in Milan.
On October 8th the singer-songwriter will bring his first concert to the Monk in Rome.
