The System of a Down tour continues after the Milan date. In the repertoire there is a piece of Toxicity titled Needlesan incitement to “get the tapeworm out of your ass”, or to free yourself from addictions.
On Monday, in one of the two concerts at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, the group's guitarist Daron Malakian offered the audience an alternative version of the lyrics, replacing the tapeworm with Oasis.
«London, do you have a bum? Everyone say: ass!”, he told the audience, a bit like he did on I-Days. «We have a song about a tapeworm. Today, for a bit of fun, I'm going to call the tapeworm… today I'm going to call the tapeworm Oasis.” And singing first alone and then making the audience sing in chorus: «Pull Oasis out of your ass!», that is, get Oasis out of your ass. At his side Serj Tankian seemed amused.
According to Setlitst.fm during the second concert in London, which was held yesterday during the Argentina-England World Cup semi-final, Malakian updated the audience on the score of the match and invited them to blame Oasis for England's defeat.
It's a story that began many years ago, more or less at the time of Toxicitywhen Noel Gallagher called System of a Down “the shittiest band of all time.” At the time, Malakian responded by posting a photo outside Soldier Field in Chicago with the caption altered to spell out the phrase “Fuck Oasis.”
About last night's game, Liam wrote that «it is not a divine right to win the World Cup» and complimented Argentina, «the best team won», adding in a second tweet that «England will not win a World Cup until we become streetwise“, that is, more cunning, “and this also applies to the coaches, everything has become too technical, let the kids run free.”
England won't win a WC until we get street wise and that goes for the mangers it's all got too technical let the kids run wild
