After more than twenty years of absence from Spain, Eric Clapton returned to perform in Madrid in front of more than 15 thousand people, but the concert last May 7 at the Movistar Arena ended with a small accident. According to what was reported by the Spanish press, during the final greetings someone from the audience threw a vinyl cover towards the stage, hitting the British musician. After the episode, Clapton left the stage without performing the planned encore, Before You Accuse Meclosing the live show early.
In recent years the phenomenon of objects being thrown at concerts has become increasingly frequent: bottles, phones, electronic cigarettes and other objects have hit several artists during performances. In Clapton's case, however, it would have been a vinyl that was launched. The English guitarist, who turned 81 on March 30, proposed a show strongly oriented towards the blues, accompanied by his historic Fender Stratocaster. The setlist also includes some of the most famous songs of his career, from Layla to Tears in Heaven.
The concert, which lasted about 80 minutes, was sold out and represented one of the most eagerly awaited events by Spanish fans, many of whom had not seen Clapton live for over two decades. At the moment there are no concerts planned in Italy.
