It was one of the most anticipated moments of Jay-Z's second evening event at Yankee Stadium in New York. Eminem took the stage alongside the Brooklyn rapper for Renegadetheir historic collaboration contained in The Blueprint of 2001, the album whose twenty-fifth anniversary Jay-Z celebrated by singing it live, song after song. At the end of the performance Eminem hugged Jay-Z and addressed the audience: “New York, make some noise for one of the greatest.” Shortly thereafter he returned to the stage to perform Lose Yourselfone of his most famous songs.
RenegadeFurthermore, it is not just any collaboration. Produced by Eminem with Luis Resto, it was born as a piece between Eminem and Royce da 5'9″ before Jay-Z entered the project and included it in his album, where it remains the only featuring of the entire tracklist. One of the most heated debates in hip hop has revolved around that song for over twenty years, whether Eminem outperformed Jay-Z on his own album, a voice fueled by Nas in Ether.

The reunion between Slim Shady and Hova then recalls that of the 2010 Home & Home Tour, when the two performed together in two concerts at Comerica Park in Detroit and two at Yankee Stadium. The evening of July 11th was the second of three with which Jay-Z is celebrating his career at Yankee Stadium. The first, on Friday, was dedicated to the thirty years of Reasonable Doubtwith Beyoncé and Nas among the guests. The third and last, entitled Extra Inningscloses the cycle.
