DREFGOLD releases the new EP on Friday 19 June THE SPRING BREAKERa project that marks the beginning of a new artistic phase for the Bolognese rapper. A work that looks at the cloud and rage sounds of the American scene without losing the elements that made his path within Italian rap recognizable.
For DREFGOLD it's not just a new record release. THE SPRING BREAKER in fact it represents a sort of restart, with a renewed imagination, a freer approach and an even more international musical direction.
THE SPRING BREAKER inaugurates DREFGOLD's second artistic life
In recent years DREFGOLD he has built one of the most recognizable identities of Italian trap. With this new EP, however, he chooses to explore different territories, allowing himself to be influenced by the new currents of the American urban scene.
The project collects the artist's most spontaneous energy and transforms it into a more personal narrative. The result is a work that aims to show new nuances of the rapper without interrupting the connection with the path built to date.
From Italian trap to an increasingly international vision
DREFGOLDborn Elia Specolizzi, was born in Bologna in 1997. His recording debut came in 2018 with KANAGLIAan album that reached second place in the FIMI charts and quickly achieved important commercial results.

In 2020 he publishes Eloa Gold certified project that contains some of the most representative tracks of Italian trap in recent years. Among these stand out Snitches and Snitchescreated together with FSK SatelliteAnd Elegant with Sfera Ebbastaboth certified Platinum.
A year later it also arrives Elo Overtimeexpansion of the project which further consolidates its presence in the national urban scene.
The collaborations and the path up to Goblin
From the very beginning DREFGOLD he has built a network of collaborations that spans much of the Italian rap and trap scene.
Artists such as Sfera Ebbastaamong the first to believe in his talent, Side Baby, Dark Polo Gang, Izi, Gué and the American rapper Smokepurpp. There has also been no shortage of forays into territories closer to pop and indie, such as those together with The Welfare State.
In 2024 it has arrived Goblinsan album that further strengthened the positioning of DREFGOLD in contemporary Italian rap and which prepared the ground for the new direction undertaken today with THE SPRING BREAKER.
With this EP the Bolognese rapper opens a new chapter in his career, bringing his artistic universe towards increasingly global sounds and references.
