For the past half-decade, evilgiane and his Surf Gang collective have had their hands all over the quirkiest and most effervescent sounds of rap’s underground and mainstream. Already this year, the elusive-yet-ubiquitous producer is credited on Earl Sweatshirt and MIKE’s POMPEII // UTILITY, a song with Compton’s $amaad, and an ambient instrumental tape. On his newest release, #HEAVENSGATE VOL. 2, he continues to build cloud-rap utopias, constructing ethereal textures with weightless sines and pressurized 808s. The sequel to 2024’s #HEAVENSGATE enlists high-profile talent like Rico Nasty and RealYungPhil, as well as lesser-known names like $amaad and New York’s Dee Aura,…

Ibeyi introduce the title track off their fourth album with a disclaimer: “I don’t make spells anymore,” says Lisa-Kaindé Diaz. “Now, I make offerings,” adds Naomi, her twin sister. They attribute the shift to an apparition of Yemayá, the mother orisha of oceans and rivers, to Lisa-Kaindé. “Only offerings now,” the deity told her. In one sense, it’s a protective reaction to spells that don’t bear fruit. But it’s also a despojo—a cleansing act that finds freedom in letting go of the control we’re wired to cling to.The transition is right there in the titles of their albums: 2022’s Spell…
Pz’ spends much of his proper debut, No Turning Back, equally baffled by his good fortune and ready to fasten it to his side with a Gucci strap before anyone else can take it. “The numbers is goin’ so muhfuckin’ crazy!” he says on opener “Never Gon Home,” getting a touch giddy before regaining his composure with some wisecracks: “They playin’ my shit at the store/They playin’ my shit at your ho house.” The fashionista-to-rapper pipeline is well-trodden territory at this point, but the drama of the imagery—wielding Bazo boots and Dior Homme aesthetics like the poles and switches shuffling…
Price has been open about how much his work with Madonna means to him—she pulled him out of obscurity in the early aughts to work with her on the Drowned World tour and, later, Confessions, leading to hits with Kylie, the Killers, and Dua Lipa—and his love for her comes through in this album’s sheer attention to detail: The split-second rocksteady break on “Danceteria”; the nods to Erotica (on “My Sins Are My Savior,”) Bedtime Stories (on “Betrayal”), and Ray of Light (in the chord progression on “L.E.S. Girl”); and even in the fact that this might be the first…
As Americans across the country struggle with the high costs of living and stagnant wages, Donald Trump has made a fortune since retaking the White House. The president has reportedly upped his net worth by billions in his second term, and nearly every member of his immediate family — and even some of his extended family — is also cashing in. Their financial portfolios have coincidently aligned with the goals of Trump's administration, which has green-lit deals and contracts with multiple companies that Trump family members have invested in. This week, the Trump family once again came under heavy scrutiny…
“People think dance music is just superficial,” Madonna announces early on her excellent new album, Confessions II. “But they're all wrong. The dance floor is not just a place. It's a threshold, a ritualistic space where movement replaces language.” That's the threshold where Madonna spent her whole life. Ever since she blew up in the Eighties, pop's queen of queens has devoted her career to proving how complex, how dramatic, how ecstatic a dance floor can be. Hon Confessions II, Madonna returns to the floor, the place where she always goes to rediscover herself. It's a sequel to one of…
If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, Rolling Stone may receive an affiliate commission. There's been no shortage of Heated Rivalry collectibles since the breakout show's release, from official books and vinyl to fan-made “cottage” candles, but one piece of merch is cutting a sexy figure — and making us do a double take. Etsy seller “Bookshelf of Fantasy” is offering up some Heated Rivalry-inspired bobblehead dolls, that feature the characters of Ilya and Shane as shirtless, standing figurines. Each bobblehead measures approximately six inches tall, with the miniature hockey hunks stripped…
A man from Hawthorne, California, pleaded guilty on Thursday to sending a fake ransom note to the family of Nancy Guthrie amid a desperate search for the 84-year-old woman. In his plea, Derrick Callella, 42, admitted that he called and sent text messages to a missing person's family on Feb. 4, 2026, regarding a bitcoin transfer. He also said that he intended to harass the family by seeking information about the investigation into the missing person's disappearance, per a press release from the US Attorney's Office for the District of Arizona. Guthrie, the mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie,…
InfoWars is back, and this time it’s not a bad thing. The right wing outlet once owned and operated by disgraced (and deeply indebted) conspiracy theorist Alex Jones relaunched on Thursday as a subsidiary of The Onion. Shortly after 8 p.m. ET, comedian Tim Heidecker took the chair. “We have officially taken over InfoWars now, this is the new dawn,” he said in his unwavering Jones impression, before teasing that he had secret info on the network’s former owner. The broadcast then cut to The Jim Haggerty Show. Haggerty brought on former CIA agent Neil Riker (played by actor Phil…
