Two years after “Something In The Room She Moves”, Julia Holter has announced the new album “Materia”, out on August 21st via Domino Recording Company. The album is presented as a complementary work to the previous one and anticipated by the single “Fantasy”, already available together with a video clip directed by Dicky Bahto. Speaking about the song, Holter said that it was the most complex piece of the entire project: “This song, which gives the impression of voluntary abandonment, was actually the most laborious on the album. It required over a year of work and numerous transformations. I love…

In a world where most trending products are skincare, supplements, home gyms, and other health-forward gear, the Ninja Slushi is very refreshing — literally. The viral frozen-drink machine was launched in 2024 and introduced “Rapidchill” technology that can turn almost any liquid into a frosty frozen drink without any ice. The machine quickly started taking over TikTok, and retailers couldn’t keep it in stock. Now, the buzz around the Slushi has chilled a bit (no pun intended), but…

Lin-Manuel Miranda will make his long-awaited return to Broadway in spring 2027 when his gender-flipped musical adaptation of The Warriors arrives at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater next April, for The New York Times. The project — which Miranda developed with playwright and actress Eisa Davis — will be his first Broadway show since Hamilton. Miranda and Davis penned the music, lyrics, and book for the show, while Miranda is also one of the lead producers. (He will not, however, act in the show as he did for Hamilton.) The Warriors is one of the most famous modern New York City tales.…

They're not supposed to make a museum about the people you idolized in high school. Is there going to be a David Letterman Museum? At Reggie Jackson Museum? A Center for the Studies of 1982 Penthouse Pet Corrine Alphen? When I played Born to Run on the record player in my basement in Edison, New Jersey, and when I chanted lyrics in unison with 22,000 fans at Madison Square Garden as Bruce Springsteen preached hope for three-and-a-half hours, I was not appreciating art. I was consuming fuel to propel me through adolescence. Springsteen could no more be experienced behind glass…

Article by Umberto Scaramozzino The last time I saw an artist playing on stage wearing the Italian national football team t-shirt was Eddie Vedder at the San Siro Stadium in Milan. At that time, however, we still went to the World Cup, so much so that it was a good omen gesture for the national team match that would be played before Pearl Jam's evening concert. Eddie unexpectedly took to the stage, alone, in the heat of the early afternoon, wearing a blue t-shirt and a guitar to sing “Porch” and let us know he was rooting for us. We…

As J.D. Vance struggles to finalize a peace deal with Iran, and Trump threatens to resume bombing his adversary if they don’t comply, Congress is voting to halt the war altogether. On Tuesday, the Senate voted 50-48 on a resolution ordering the president to pull forces out of Iran pending the legislative branch actually authorizing the war. The resolution is not actually binding, but it marks another bipartisan rebuke of the war. Four Republican senators — Susan Collins (R-Maine), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Bill Cassidy (R-La.) — broke with the party to vote in favor of the…

Donald Trump visited a Mack Trucks facility in Pennsylvania on Tuesday and, as he does in just about all of his speeches, railed about supposed rigged elections. The president was particularly interested in what happened earlier this month in California, where Republican Spencer Pratt failed to advance to the runoff in Los Angeles’ mayoral race. “Hey, did they screw the kid Pratt? He’s leading and all of a sudden he’s lost,” Trump wondered before detailing how Pratt fell out of contention as the state counted votes following Election Day. “I said, they rigged the election.” Steve Hilton, the Republican candidate…
