This weekend saw Foo Fighters complete two sold out shows at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool, where the band were joined on stage by two very special guests. The US rock titans’ only scheduled UK shows of 2026 (with the band teasing more to come next year) kicked off on Thursday June 25. In the latter part of the show, frontman Dave Grohl picked out (who was assumed to be) a fan from the audience, holding a sign that challenged the band to let him play a song if he could complete a Rubik’s cube. He took to the stage and…
Bruce Tull, guitarist and pedal steel player for the Nineties alt-country outfit Scud Mountain Boys, has died. He was 71. Tull died on June 22 in Tulsa, Oklahoma after a brief illness, according to a statement shared with Rolling Stone. Joe Pernice, frontman of Scud Mountain Boys, shared a tribute on Instagram last week, writing, “No combination of words will ever accurately describe the beauty of Tull. Someday I'll try. But today Stephen [Desaulniers]Tom [Shea]and I am just hollowed by his passing. In our grief we send our love to Nancy, the entire Tull family and to all who loved…

It's something fans have been wondering, and in many cases clamoring for, for at least 14 years (or a full 16 if you're a real genre stickler): When will Taylor Swift go country again? Twenty years ago, Swift broke through as a rising Nashville star, before quickly, and deftly, pulling off the ultimate crossover pivot en route to becoming the biggest pop star on the planet. In terms of pure output, Swift's “country era” comprises a mere quarter of her entire oeuvre: Just four albums out of 12, and maybe only three depending on how strictly you want to classify…
Metallica have covered Tom Jones’ ‘Delilah’ at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, despite the song being banned from the venue. The metal icons played the Welsh capital last night (June 28) as part of the final UK run of their ongoing ‘M72’ world tour, and used their mid-set ‘Kirk and Rob Doodle’ section to nod to one of Wales’ most famous sons. Their choice of cover is somewhat loaded, however, as in 2023, the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) banned the 1968 hit from being performed by choirs in the stadium at Wales internationals due to its references to domestic violence. The song’s lyrics, by Barry Mason, were written from the perspective of a man who kills his partner…
Welcome to Taylor Swift wedding week. Or at least, the week that the entire world believes Taylor and Travis Kelce will finally pull off the Wedding of the Century. Ten months after Travis knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring, is this finally marry-me-Juliet time? There hasn’t been this level of cultural obsession over a wedding in American history in a while. Taylor and Travis are major figures in the two biggest American dream…

When the surviving members of the Grateful Dead hit the road as the Other Ones back in 2002, singer-guitarist Susan Tedeschi was asked to join the group. It was one of the most unpredictable musical experiences the Tedeschi Trucks Band member ever had. “You just got to be on your toes, you go to be ready for anything. They don't even know what they're going to do until they do it,” she tells Rolling Stone's Nashville Now podcasts. That was especially true of Bob Weir, who died in January at 78. Before a show, Weir would tell Tedeschi how they…
