Sombr returns with a new single, “My Body Isn't Ready”, an intense and vulnerable ballad in which he addresses the themes of self-esteem, body image and his own insecurities without filters. The song, written and co-produced entirely by the American artist, presents itself as an emotional anthem dedicated to those who struggle to accept themselves. “I hope this song can mean different things to different people,” Sombr explained. “It can be interpreted as a metaphor or in a literal way, as a description of how I have perceived my body all my life.” Sombr's goal is to transform a personal experience into a message of comfort for those experiencing similar difficulties. “I wanted to share my struggle so that other people who are going through the same journey know they are not alone. You are beautiful and I love you.” The single is accompanied by a video clip directed by Gus Black and starring actors Inde Navarrette and Josh Heuston.

In the chorus, Sombr talks about how the conflictual relationship with one's body ends up influencing the sentimental sphere as well: “I like you, but my body isn't ready/ I want you, but the mirror won't let me/ I try to be the person you expect/ But I'm not ready.” Later he adds another particularly evocative image: “If I could crawl out of my skin, would you let me in?”.
“My Body Isn't Ready” premiered live on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The song comes after the singles “Homewrecker” and “Potential”, released in recent months, and continues the path begun with the debut album “I Barely Know Her”, already Record of the Month on OndaRock, released last summer.
In the next few months Sombr will be on tour from headliner in North America and will participate in numerous international festivals, including Reading & Leeds, Sziget, Rock En Seine and Electric Picnic. In April he also surprised the Coachella audience by performing together with Billy Corgan and Billy Idol, as well as performing a cover of a Radiohead classic.
