The third edition of BOP – Beats of Pompeii kicks off on Wednesday 24 June 2026, the festival that transforms the Amphitheater of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii into an exceptional stage, where music, history and art come together in an unparalleled union. The event, promoted by the Ministry of Culture and the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, by the Municipality of Pompeii and the Campania Region, confirms itself as a cultural reference point and a powerful international tourism driver. The Festival will open on Wednesday 24 June with a concert by Of Monsters And Men. The established Icelandic art rock band, currently on world tour, will make an exclusive stop in Southern Italy for the first time, presenting its latest work “All Is Love and Pain in…” live. An unmissable event for indie-folk lovers, which will bring Nordic sounds to the ancient arena of Pompeii. The following day, Thursday 25 June, the event is enriched with an event of extraordinary artistic and social value: the concert-event “È Mio Padre – Morricone Dirige Morricone”. An emotional journey into the immortal music of the great Maestro Ennio Morricone, which will see his son Andrea Morricone on the podium at the helm of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Teatro Comunale of Modena, supported by the narrating voice of his other son, Marco Morricone. The show, with over 100 elements including orchestra and choir, will retrace the Maestro's unforgettable soundtracks through a unique and familiar perspective, alternating performances faithful to the original scores with stories and anecdotes. Accompanying the orchestra are the Ricercare Ensemble Chamber Choir, the soprano Vittoriana De Amicis, the baritone Alessio Quaresima Escobar and the pianist Cecilia Grillo. “È Mio Padre” is not only a tribute to one of the greatest musical geniuses of the twentieth century, but also an initiative with strong social commitment. The proceeds from the concert will be entirely donated to Fondazione Città della Speranza, a philanthropic organization to support research on onco-haematological diseases and rare pediatric diseases. As underlined by the Director of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, Gabriel Zuchtriegel, the event represents a perfect combination of culture, scientific research and archaeology. The third edition of BOP – Beats of Pompeii 2026 promises to be full of events, with a program that ranges from rock to pop, from classical music to jazz, hosting names such as Beat, Riccardo Cocciante, Pat Metheny, Opeth, Coez, Vinicio Capossela, Tropico, Riccardo Muti, Marcus Miller, Charlie Puth, Marillion, concluding on 27 July with Savatage.
