Getting lost in the labyrinth of your own thoughts means encountering, at every turn, regrets, mistakes and fears that take on the face of personal Minotaurs. It is a path that often requires proceeding without maps and without help, also dealing with the fear of abandonment and self-devaluation.
With the new single “The Maze”, i Noise in Myself they reread the myth of Ariadne as a still relevant story. After helping Theseus escape the labyrinth, Ariadne is left alone on the island of Naxos: ingratitude, betrayed expectations and remorse have tormented human beings since the dawn of time, but all nights have an end.
In the same way as Ariadne, who manages to leave the labyrinth and its demons behind by climbing onto Dionysus' chariot and marrying him, ascending to an existence illuminated by harmony with ourselves and others is possible. “I wear dawn upon my head, I am the stars, the past is dead”: the diadem that Dionysus gives to Ariadne becomes the aurora on her head, elevating her among the stars and allowing her to finally find serenity.
It's not just the words that tell this evolution, but also the instrumental.
The initial dialogue between the strings introduces the internal conflict, the powerful and tireless rhythm dictates the marching pace, while the irregular riff reminds us that healing is not a straight line and the voice insinuates itself like a narrating ghost.
With a sound and a compositional imprint that draw on Tools And Leprous,”The Maze” inaugurates the new era of Noise in Myself by describing the most important marathon in life: the one towards one's own peace.
NOISE IN MYSELF
THE Noise in Myself (NIM) are an Italian-Swiss band born from an idea by Enea Maina during the 2020 lockdown. After the release of the self-titled debut album (2022) and the concept EP “Answers…” (2023), which led to intense live activity, the band suffers a setback. The project was reborn with the entry of the soprano and vocalist Arianna Bellinaso (Aexylium), Yuri Bordonali on the bass (Ecastor) and the drummer Omar Mariani (ex Those Furious Flames)with whom he resumes writing new material.
Noise in Myself's Alternative Progressive Metal sound unites progressive and post-metal influencesethereal atmospheres and references to spiritual and ancestral sounds. The result is a compositional style that balances evocative melodies, complex rhythms and powerful and irregular riffs, creating a personal and recognizable sound. Among the most obvious influences are echoed Tool, Coroner, Leprous, Soen and Anathemareinterpreted through an original vision.
Through texts linked to inner research, the meaning of existence and social denunciation, with references to ancient traditions and spiritual symbolism, Noise in Myself invite us to question our origins, the present and the deepest meaning of human experience.
