FKA twigs closes the chapter of the “Body High Tour” with a new single. The British singer has released “On Your Mind”, a pulsating electro song created with the collaboration of Lil Yachty, the first unreleased solo material since “Eusexua Afterglow”, the reworking of her album “Eusexua” released in 2025.
Through a long message published on Instagram, FKA twigs recounted the genesis of the song, born following the cancellation of her performance at Coachella last year. The artist explained that she wrote the song after discovering that some members of her team would not be able to reach her in the United States, making it impossible to attend the festival. “I stayed late in the rehearsal room, practicing almost maniacally in the hope that the news wasn't true and denying to myself that I wouldn't be able to cross the ocean to perform in front of my incredible and loyal fans. I thought that if I practiced a little more, I would somehow make it,” she said. The singer added: “It never ceases to amaze me how pain can transform into the most powerful and euphoric sounds. I think writing songs like this keeps me alert and reminds me that I'm not in control of everything.”
In presenting the single, FKA twigs linked the song to the conclusion of her recent arena tour in Europe and the United States: “After completing my first arena tour between the USA and Europe, it seemed like the perfect time to release this song and celebrate what we as artists can overcome when we believe in ourselves and others believe in us. I feel full of gratitude. Thank you to those who came to see BODY HIGH, thank you for continuing to grow with me. Thank you for what we are building together. Everything happens for a reason and my reason for making music and art will always be you.”
2026 is proving to be particularly busy for FKA twigs. In addition to releasing “On Your Mind” and touring, she composed music for the film “Mother Mary,” starring Anne Hathaway, was cast as Josephine Baker in a future biopic, and took legal action against a band of the same name over a trademark dispute.
