Linus is the new artistic director of Milan Music Week. It is the main novelty of the event which will be held from 16 to 22 November. Presented today at the Museo del Novecento in Milan, the 2026 Music Week aims to strengthen the relationship between the city and the music industry, as explained by Tommaso Sacchi, Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Milan.
“Music Week is a structure with solid foundations,” Linus said. «A little “color” will need to be added. It doesn't have a very good location because in mid-November people tend to stay at home, but we will try to make it more visible” and perhaps find a better location in the calendar for the next editions. Sacchi has invited Stefano De Martino, Linus hopes to host a small preview of Sanremo 2027. There will be a space to talk about half a century of punk and disco music.
«Music Week is not just a catwalk of events, it is also a week in which we talk and discuss topics», said Linus. «The real drama of contemporary society is the pre-adolescent age up to almost 20 years of age. We are losing entire generations who cannot find a job or even forms of expression. You have to find something that can excite them. In the 80s in Milan there was heroin. Heroin today is called social. The only thing is to make antibodies, to offer something that can have an impact on a person's growth. Music is one of these things, like sport. Here, I would like to talk to teenagers during the week.”
The “home” of the Music Week, which as always includes events scattered throughout the city, will be the Fabbrica del Vapore (whose square will be renovated). “It was my request,” Linus said. «I liked the idea that Music Week had an identifiable point of reference».
