Jack White's seventh album will be released on July 10th. It's called Frozen Charlottecontains 13 pieces and opens with the two songs contained in the single released in April GOD and the Broken Ribs And Demonic Derecho. A new piece entitled has also been released Dollar Bills.
The release of the album was revealed in an unusual way, hiding the announcement in a promotional video from Third Man Records. The album later appeared on White's label website where it is explained that it is played with Patrick Keeler on drums, Dominic Davis on bass and Bobby Emmett on keyboards. It's the band he's performing with. «Instead of resting on their laurels for the work done, they immediately entered the studio and recorded what would become Frozen Charlotte».
The album was recorded at Third Man Studio in Nashville and is presented as a work similar in spirit to No Name«a record that will make longtime fans feel at home, while at the same time leaving the door open to those approaching his music for the first time».
The title Frozen Charlotte it is the same as a series of sculptures by White exhibited in his first exhibition at the Newport Street Gallery in London called Jack White: These Thoughts May Disappear. It opened on May 29th and will continue until September 13th. The cover (below with the tracklist) is a photo of one of these sculptures, a blue skull shaker in place of the head of a small sailor sculpture dating back to the 1940s. The frozen charlotte they are nineteenth-century dolls, mostly made of porcelain, often undressed, whose name served as a reminder to children to cover themselves well in winter.
White will hold his first solo concert in Italy on June 19th at the La Prima Estate festival.
