Samurai Jay – FLAMENCO PARANOIA: the meaning of the song
In FLAMENCO PARANOIA, Samurai Jay It tells of a love that you can't really put behind you. The song starts from the attempt to forget a person, but immediately moves in the opposite direction: the memory remains present, returns to everyday details and continues to influence the singer.
The refrain, with the phrase “if the world burns, I'll come back to you”, focuses on an emotional dependence that is still alive. There paranoia of the title is therefore not just mental agitation, but the way in which desire, nostalgia and feelings of guilt mix within a relationship that seems over, but not really closed.
