With the new album Anatomy of a prolonged crashborn as an ideal continuation of the documentary that precedes it (Savoy Elegy), Willie Peyote returns to transform doubts, contradictions and collective anxieties into music, building a project that combines cinema, irony and social reflection.
Willie Peyote: “We are surrounded by contradictions”
The album title takes inspiration from the film Anatomy of a fall (2023), but it immediately turns into something broader and more personal. For Willie Peyote a “prolonged crash” in fact perfectly represents the time we are living in:
“A crash technically cannot be prolonged, but it is also true that we are surrounded by contradictions.”
A concept – this – that runs through the entire album, between cinematographic references from the '60s and '70s, oxymoronic images and a writing that alternates sarcasm and depth.
“Anatomy of a Prolonged Crash,” Willie Peyote: “No One Saves Himself Alone”
At the center of the project is above all the theme of community. Come on featuring with Brunori Sas, Naomi And Jekesa up to the most intimate stories, Willie Peyote describes music as something that acquires meaning and value only through others.
A thought that also emerges in Stormthe single that preceded the release of the album and which still plays on the radio, where the singer-songwriter reflects on how life as a couple is a little less scary.
“Anatomy of a prolonged crash”: between end of life, social media and critical thinking
During the interview Willie Peyote it also addresses profound and very current issues: from the debate on the end of life to the distortions of social networks. Speaking of Marseille flavourin particular, the artist says he is close to the battles of Marco Cappatodefining the end-of-life “a question of civilization”.
From here the attention then shifts to the so-called rage baitor the tendency to create content designed to arouse anger and strong emotional reactions, with the aim of increasing engagement and visibility.
In short, “anger today can be monetisedBut this mechanism, second Willie Peyoteonly risks impoverishing the public debate and emptying even the most important issues of meaning.

“Anatomy of a prolonged crash”: the interview with willie peyote
Between provocations, self-criticism and irony, Anatomy of a prolonged crash presents itself as a profoundly human album, capable of questioning the present, without claiming to have all the answers in hand.
Willie Peyote It thus gives us an invitation to embrace complexity, continuing to question ourselves about the meaning of what we do.
