The Tears for Fears celebrate the 40th anniversary of “Songs from the Big Chair”. The multiplatin album, second disc of the group, originally published on February 25, 1985, has reached enormous popularity worldwide in a short time. By repeating the exploit of the “The Hurting” debut exploit, “Songs from the Big Chair” has climbed the US rankings and generated five singles of great success: “Mothers talk”, “Shout”, “Everybody Wants To Rule The World”, “Head Over Heels” and “I Believe”, manage to give life to a perfect life. Mix of pop, melody, energy and new wave innovation.
To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Universal publishes a series of special and limited editions, including the 2LP in Transparent Red vinyl with artwork Original never used and songs previously not available in vinyl, the deluxe edition of 3 CDs, a transparent blue vinyl and a Picture Disc.
The influence of this album has been so relevant that he still manages to conquer new public today. The song “Everybody Wants to Rule The World” was reinterpreted by gross for “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”, and is present in different soundtracks of films, including: “Guardians of the galaxy” (as well as in “Guardians of the Cosmic Rewind galaxy”), “Cativissimo Me 4” and “The Lego Batman Movie”.
Formed in Bath in 1981, the Tears for Fears, made up of Roland Orzabal (voice, guitar, keyboards) and Curt Smith (voice, bass, keyboards), have sold more than 30 million albums all over the world. In 2021 they were awarded the Outstanding Song Collection Award to the Ivor Novello Awards. Today, the band continues to perform all over the world, while continuing a residency show in Las Vegas of great success.
