THIRTEEN STONE TOWARDS SANREMO 2026
How are you experiencing this first approach?
“By pondering, step by step and preparing, I respect what I have to do. When I started, in 2019, I was different and I simply went from 20 to 28 years old with an artistic change but I don't feel I have changed much humanly.
What you have inside, what shapes you in my opinion is formed in adolescence and then remains that so I'm still Pietro but I feel the load of experience and life that has shaped me in this way”
The baggage of the last twelve months, he says, has become increasingly greater and has also led to a clear, personal and artistic change in perspective.
“I abandoned ego and vanity and this meant abandoning others. Often when you want to feed your ego you try to please others and it's a big leap between being a child and being an adult.
Rap is a game of who has the most ego and when I abandoned the ego I also abandoned that way of rapping, my music changed drastically and my way of seeing what I dreamed of as a need changed and became a desire.
It is the ego that feeds on need, it feeds itself with necessities. Desire, however, comes with will and is a different thing. Looking at things with detachment helped me a lot.”
Talking about the song, how did the idea of making these three rhythm changes come about?
“Vanegas and I are contemporaries, more hip hop, and then DiMartino comes from knowing that it hasn't been given to me yet. It was him, the bassist, who decided to come towards me. Then when he understood that I wanted to go somewhere else, towards him, the song opened up.
There is a change of atmosphere because we go from a smaller scale to a larger scale, from darkness to exploding light. There is me in the verses, a lot of it, and there is my person at the service of a more open context and this is the result.
DiMartino has already done Sanremo, we haven't even even remotely touched on the option of going together because he has his own things to do”
