The event which, in the unique atmosphere of the Venetian lagoon, transforms the sound of the most refined and exciting pop and rock music in solidarity and support for oncological research, has had a well-known name for some years: Venice Sounds.
Born from the initiative launched in 2019 by Giancarlo Ligabue Foundation and the newborn Medicine Rocks Association in memory of Tomaso Cavannaculture manager who passed away prematurely at just 40 years of age, Venezia Sounds returns on time from 2024, involving ever new artists to give voice to “music that heals”, fully allocating all the proceeds of the evening to support studies on cancer.
The benefit concert will therefore return again this year thanks to the enthusiastic will of Inti Ligabue and Edy Campo the 24 October 2026, always in the magical context of the Tese delle Nappe of the Arsenale – thanks to the collaboration and synergy with the Municipality of Venice and with Vela Spa – and with charity partners of the Humanitas Foundation for Research initiative and VIMM-Veneto Institute of Molecular Medicine to which all the proceeds were also donated last year
In fact, 316,900 euros were raised overall in the various editions of Venezia Sounds, half of which (158,000 euros) thanks to the 2025 concert which, in addition to the sold out tickets, saw the Ligabue Group, which has always been the main sponsor of the event, also joined by other important and generous partners.
This year the challenge is to surpass ourselves once again and ignite the hearts of the public and of many supporters called to share together a precise objective in favor of medical-scientific progress – supporting the immunotherapy research conducted by Professor Antonio Sica of IRCCS Istituto Clinico Humanitas and the molecular investigations in the field of neurodegenerative diseases developed by Dr. Cecilia Laterza of VIMM – and an exciting evening with 6 hours of overwhelming music.
Even more so as Venezia Sounds is taking on an increasingly international dimension in its artistic participation, while maintaining – thanks to the artistic direction of Samuel Romano, lead singer of Subsonica – the magic of unprecedented and unusual collaborations on stage between groups and singers and the contagious empathy with the public.
In addition to the new date, the Giancarlo Ligabue Foundation and Medicine Rocks announce this the first exciting names of the Venezia Sounds 2026 line up: one of the symbolic bands of European music will take to the Venetian stage – i Morcheeba – with over ten million records sold and toured all over the world, born on the British trip hop scene at the end of the nineties and capable of fusing pop, rock, funk, down beat, hip hop and electronica; Motta singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and soundtrack composer, two Tenco Targhe won in these ten years and in 2026 the return to tour with a new reissue of the debut album (2016) The end of the twenties and a new artistic maturity; the very large and refined Emma Nolde, among the most interesting and committed voices of Italian music, which right now is celebrating the announcement of the Targa Tenco for the single What must be will be, And The Zen Circus, leading band of Italian independent rock who conquered audiences and critics with albums with Everyone go fuck yourself, The Third World WarAnd Fire in a room.
But surprises, as per Venezia Sounds tradition, will not be lacking after the summer, (last year it was the case of Jovanotti announced at the last minute) when will they come other artists have been revealed who have decided not to be missing, including one of the most loved and sensational names on the Italian pop art scene.
