The news follows reports that the late rapper’s family has tasked a team of investigators to ascertain any connection between Combs and Shakur’s death
The family of Tupac Shakur has hired powerhouse lawyer Alex Spiro to investigate Sean Combs, Rolling Stone has confirmed.
The news follows circulating reports that the late Los Angeles rapper’s family have hired Spiro and a team of investigators to establish if there is any connection between Shakur’s death and Bad Boy Entertainment founder Sean Combs.
During the height of the East Coast-West Coast hip-hop feud, a 25-year-old Shakur was gunned down in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas in September 1996. His murder has gone unsolved, but a break in the cold case came in September 2023 when Compton Crips gang member Duane Keith “Keffe D” Davis was arrested and charged with Shakur’s murder.
Davis — who heads to trial in March 2025 — has made claims that Combs offered $1 million for a hit on Shakur. (Combs has vehemently denied the claim.)
In September, Combs was arrested and charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution, nearly a year after his ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura filed a bombshell sexual abuse lawsuit against the mogul.
