The Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood spinoff directed by David Fincher hits theaters on Nov. 25 and Netflix in December
After rumors stirred last month, it’s official: Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross provided the score to The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, directed by David Fincher and written by Quentin Tarantino.
Reznor and Ross have scored six of Fincher’s movies, including The Social Network, Gone Girl, and Mank, the former receiving the Academy Award for Best Original Score in 2011.
The duo has also struck up a creative partnership with another director in recent years, scoring the last four movies directed by Luca Guadagnino, including Challengers and After the Hunt.
The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth is a quasi-sequel to Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 film Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood and arrives in theaters on Nov. 25 before heading to Netflix on December 23. Tarantino will release a novelization of the Booth-centered film on Dec. 8, following the 2021 work Once Upon a Time in Hollywood: A Novel.
Brad Pitt reprises his role as the eponymous stuntman-turned-fixer and takes place in 1977, eight years after the events of Tarantino’s movie, which altered the events of the Tate-LaBianca murders committed by the Manson Family. Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Timothy Olyphant, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II also appear in the spin-off.
As Nine Inch Nails, Reznor and Ross have kept busy. The pair released Nine Inch Noize, a collaborative record with Boys Noize, in April. Last September, they released the Tron: Ares soundtrack, which marked the first new Nine Inch Nails record in a half decade.
