The video of “ is onlineGOING SHOPPING”, the single by THE STROKES taken from their seventh album of unreleased songs “REALITY AWAITS” (Sony Music / Cult Records / RCA Records), out July 24th.
The video is a tribute to the iconic video of “You Can Call Me Al“by Paul Simon. To recreate the role of Chevy Chase in Paul Simon's video, The Strokes decided to rely on Walton Gogginswho, finding himself shooting a film in the Canary Islands, said to the band on the phone “Let's go shopping!” This is how the band traveled to Tenerife to meet up with Goggins on site.
The result is the video directed by Johann Rashid.
The album “Reality Awaits” will be available in digital versions, CD, black LP, black ice glitter LP (Exclusive Lazio Disco), LP Metallic Gold (Exclusive to IBS/Feltrinelli).
“Reality Awaits”which will also feature the single “FALLING OUT OF LOVE”, was recorded in Costa Rica with the producer Rick Rubin and then finished around the world, and marks the band's return with new music, six years after the 2020 album “The New Abnormal”, which will be followed by an intense world tour.
The Strokesafter Coachella, they will perform at some of the main festivals around the world and will headline at Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Summer Sonic 2026 in Japan and many others.
The Strokes are one of the most influential bands of the early 21st century, so much so that since their debut in 2001, their discography has been able to redefine the sound of an entire generation.
